After graduating from Hamline University she taught school a year before she got married. After living at Belview, Minnesota for two years they moved to Redwood Falls, where William H. Wallace was cashier of the Gold-Stabeck Bank. In 1909, the family moved to Los Angeles, where William H. Wallace was assistant cashier of the Broadway Bank & Trust Co. A year and a half later he formed the Exchange National Bank of Long Beach and the family moved to Long Beach.
Mrs. Wallace became very active in the First Methodist Episcopal Church, being president at times of the Missionary Society, the Foreign Missionary Society, Superintendant of the Sunday School and Head of the Ladies Aid."

She was involved in athletics, representing the Class of '95 on the Committee of Ladies' Outdoor Sports. She was vice president of the Athenaean Society in the fall term.
