George's family was in Bryant's Station during the famous seige of August 14-15, 1782. Margaret and all of the children except for maybe the younger girls were there and have Rev. service to their credit as the women and children carried water to put out the fires during the warfare. Margaret (Peggy) received 40 acres of land in what later became Fayette County, Kentucky for her husband's Revolutionary War efforts."
