The Cotton MS says that he died in 1262, and was buried in Jervaulx Abbey, leaving a son and heir Randolf, who dsp. and was succeeded by his brother Hugh, as in the text. Henry was son and heir of Randolf fitz Henry (who died before 13 Jan 1242/3), by Alice (who had Barwick on Tees in free marriage), daughter of William de Percy, of Kildale. Alice, widow of Randolf, was living in 1250, and died before 11 Nov 1253. Randolf was son and heir of Henry fitz Hervey, of Ravensworth, Cotherstone, Hinton, etc. (who was living 16 May 1212), by Alice, daughter of Randolf fitz Wauter, of Greystock. The said Hervey was forester of the New Forest and Arkengathdale, co. York, by the grant of Conan, Duke of Brittany.
