He was 50 years old. He was buried in the Knights of Pythias plot. born in Missouri, he lived in Arizona for 20 years, and came to Globe from Bisbee in 1944. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Southern Pacific Co. at Cutter. He died at the Southern Pacific Co. sanatorium in Tucson. He was survived by his parents, Mr. and mrs. Charales Payne of Geary, Okla.; sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Payne and Mrs. Presta; brothers, Cecil, george of Louis; and four children, Lutther, Jess Willard, Mrs. William Carnett, and Mrs. Imogene Carlisle.
