Warfield (Baltimore, 1905), p. 46 Noted events in his life were: • Inherited: "The Clifts," 500 acres, jointly with his brother Philip, 10 Jul 1675, Calvert, Maryland, (United States). 3 • Probably: Minister of the Society of Friends, Bef 4 Aug 1686. • His proposal: to attend the yearly meeting at Philadelphia was approved, 4 Aug 1686. by the Herring Creek quarterly meeting. • Inherited: "The Plains," 1200 acres on the Patapsco River, from his father after his mother's death, 1687, Baltimore Co., Maryland, (United States). • Appointed: a Committee on "drowsiness," 13 Apr 1688. by the West River meeting. • Surveyed and held: 72 acres of Talbot's Ridge, 1674. • Rented: 200 acres of his Lordship's manor on the Ridge, After 1698. Samuel married Mary Hutchins of Calvert, daughter of Francis Hutchins and Elizabeth Burrage, on 15 Apr 1688 in Anne Arundel, Maryland, (United States). (Mary Hutchins of Calvert died in Jul 1751.)
