Thomas was of age before 1671, when he was guardian to his brother John.On 14 Sept 1671, Lancelot and Cornelius Howard of Anne Arundel County,guardians to John Todd, brother to said Lancelot, convey to Thomas Furleyof Talbot County, the tract "Todd Upon Darvan", containing 400 acres, onSt. Michael's River (Talbot Co.,). On 15 Apr 1680, Lancelot Todd was awitness to the will of Cornelius Howard (his daughter Mary was niece toCornelius' wife Elizabeth). On 5 Mar 1684 Lancelot Todd of Anne ArundelCounty and Sarah his wife, "Daughter and heiress of Thomas Phelps" for£10,000 sold to Edward Phelps [Philks] "Wolfe's Neck," a tract of 150acres on the Gunpowder which bordered the land formerly taken up byCaptain Thomas Harwood, Mariner; the conveyance was witnessed by ThomasBland and John Howard. The will of "Lancelot Todd of Anne Arundel County, planter" was dated 28Feb 1691 and proved 10 Nov 1691 in Anne Arundel Co., witnessed by JohnDorsey, Hugh Bawden, and John Leary. (Annapolis, ii, 219) An extractincludes: TO wife Sarah the dwelling-plantation during life, then to son John. TO son John a moiety of "Phelp's Rest," horse and colt and be of age at18 years. TO daughter Mary the other half of "Phelp's Rest," but if she diedwithout issue then to daughter Sarah, then to daugher Ellinor. TO daugher Mary "shall have and enjoy the Cow and her increase which herAunt Elizabeth Howard Gave her." TO wife her thirds whom he appointed executrix with the residue beingdivide equally to "my said children."
Lancelot further stated that his "kinsman Lancelott Todd shall belikewise free to work for himself at the Age of Eighteen." The value ofhis personal estate occured on 8 Sept 1691 with a value of 16,720 lbs.tobacco or £69/13/4. His wearing apparel including the breeches of hisservant boy "who is dead" was appraised at £2/8/4.
