According to the United Empire Loyalists' Association of Canada (http://www.uelac.org/Loyalist-Info/detail.php?letter=b&line=135) Cornelius, 1784 [1787]-1813, killed at the battle of Ogdensburg, was the son of Jacob Bastedo (1743-1833) and Clarissa Jean Van Slyke. 3
