The sibling relationship between Barbara Munro and Catherine Munro is intuitive guesswork, based solely upon an inscription in a book to "Donald Wallace from his Cousin Hugh [Ross] Bethune, Glasgow, 11th Aug't, 1845." It should not be taken as authoritative! The were many Wallaces and Rosses in Ross-shire at the time, and probably Bethunes as well.

For example, a Kathrine Munro married Hugh Ross on 17 Feb 1810 in Rosskeen. A creative imagination makes Hugh Ross this Kathrine's first husband, honored in the middle name of her son Hugh Ross Bethune. Unsubstantiated.

Another Catherine Munro (b. 28 Oct 1804 in Culrein, Kincardine, Ross-shire; d. 1850) married Donald Munroe Ross on 31 Dec 1824 in Kincardine, Ross-shire. That Catherine was the daughter of Donald Ross and Margaret Macpherson

Yet another Katherine Munro married Colin Munro on 5 Jan 1811 in Kiltearn.


Catherine married Alexander Bethune, son of <Hugh> Bethune and Unknown. (Alexander Bethune was born <27 Mar 1803> in <Rosskeen, Ross-shire (Ross and Cromarty)>, Scotland.)
