The findagrave.com record has an excerpt from his obituary, which has his widow as "Helen Kurtzman McBride" and his daughter as "Mrs. Leland E. Olander." It also says he was "a retired member of I.L.W.U. Local 10," having worked as a longshoreman for Pacific Maritime Assn.
The 1930 census gives his occupation as "Stevedore."

Died from pancreatic cancer. According to her great-grandson (in 2016), "Theo" died in 1972 in San Francisco. However the birthdate and place in the California Death Index make it likely that she died on 21 May 1973 in San Mateo county as Theo Bloom. That Theo Bloom was buried at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park. Jack Bloom (her husband?) is also buried there; his death date is 24 Sep 1972.

Although her daughter Florence was known as "Florence Burrill" to the William Wallace family, Helen may never have married Charley Burrill.

The data in the 1930 census (17 April 1930) differ slightly in the following ways:
- Joseph H. McBride born in California rather than Ohio, 32. age 30 at the time of his first marriage (i.e., this one)
- Helen E. Wallace is Theo McBride, 27, age 17 at the time of her first marriage (i.e., this one is her 2nd or 3rd). Though the census shows her father as born in Scotland, this is incorrect; he was born in Ontario, Canada.
